Obituary of Byron Kain Jamison
Byron Kain Jamison, age 89, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on June 1, 2008. He was born in Moray, Kansas on February 14, 1919, and was the son of John and Margaret Jamison. He grew up in Macks Creek, Missouri and was one of six children.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Ivan Jamison (Missouri) and George Jamison (California) and his sister, Ida May Jamison Roth (Colorado).
Byron served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the 185th Infantry. He was decorated with:
Philippines Liberation Ribbon with 1 Star, American Defense Service Ribbon ,Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Service Arrowhead
He served as a guard for his commanding officer, carried mail for the troops across enemy lines, and had the unpopular job as bugler, as he woke the soldiers before daybreak.
Byron worked as a Metal Fabricator for many years in Chicago and California. He never married but was very close to his brothers and sisters. His nieces and nephews kept him very involved in their lives. He loved to hunt, fish, golf, bowl, and play basketball. He loved the outdoors and the area around his home in Macks Creek.
His kindness, generosity, and sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew him. Bryon will be missed by his surviving brother, John (Jack) Jamison (Minnesota) his sister, Mary Rose Harrison (Missouri), and his cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
