Obituary of Laveta Grace Edwards

Laveta Grace Edwards, age 81, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri. Laveta was born December 27, 1928, in Macks Creek, Missouri, the daughter of John Earl and Flossie (Campbell) Edwards. Laveta attended school at Hack Ridge Grade School and graduated from Macks Creek High School. She was a long standing member of First Baptist Church of Camdenton. Laveta had been a resident of Windsor Estates Care Center since September 26, 1988. She was proud to be crowned �Queen of the Nursing Home� and enjoyed her Queen�s ride in the Dogwood Festival. She enjoyed playing games with her nieces and nephews and was always a help to her family members. Laveta had a way of remembering things and everyone enjoyed her recollections of things from years past and present. She loved seeing the dogwood trees in bloom and enjoyed going on car rides to view them. She is survived by her brothers; Victor Edwards and his wife, Gloria, of Liberty, Missouri and Forest Edwards and his wife, Kaye, of Paola, Kansas; one sister; Ona Henson of Camdenton, Missouri; nineteen nieces and nephews, forty nine great-nieces and nephews, forty two great- great- nieces and nephews and five great- great- great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Billie Ruth Edwards of Roach, Missouri; numerous cousins, along with several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Lois and Dorothy, and her brothers, John and Jesse. Laveta was known for her charm, independence, intelligence, and sense of humor. She was a kind and thoughtful person, and a good neighbor and friend to many. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
