Obituary of Dorothy Emma Tierney

Dorothy Emma Tierney, age 90, of Osage Beach, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, December 23, 2010, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri. She was born December 15, 1920 in McDonough County, Illinois, the daughter of William Walter and Aletha (Reid) Parkins. She was united in marriage to George James Tierney on March 7, 1948 in McComb, Illinois. Dorothy had enjoyed a rewarding career as a school teacher. She was a member of Harper Chapel United Methodist Church in Osage Beach, a member of U.M.W., and a proud member of the Lake Regional Health System Auxiliary. Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Delores Lea Spires and husband, David, of Linn Creek, Missouri; two grandchildren, Dena Lea Dittman and Sonya Lynn Spires; two great-grandchildren, FJacob and George; along with several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband George.
