Obituary of Juanita M. White
Juanita M. White, 92, of Alton, IL passed away January 26th, 2011, in Osage Beach, Missouri after a brief illness. Juanita had been residing with her son, Adrian White and his wife Linda in Lake Ozark, Missouri since Thanksgiving.
Juanita was born in Winfield, Iowa to Roscoe and Marguerite Johnson Watt on December 14, 1918, the second of five children. Her brother, Hubert E. Watt of Kansas City, MO, and sister, Helen E. Watt of Carlsbad, CA predeceased her. She is survived by her sister, Mary F. Hauhe from Alton, and Harry Craig Watt of El Paso, TX.
Juanita was married to Harold A. White for 55 years until his death on December 25th, 1991. Harold was the love of her life and took her to the Taj Mahal in India. They traveled all over the British Isles, Europe and South America. They loved to travel together.
Family was very important to them both. Juanita leaves a son, Adrian White of Lake Ozark, Missouri and a daughter, Jeannine White Smith of Decatur, IL. Eight grandchildren, Suzanne Vasu of Laguna Beach, CA, Renee LaFaire of Braceville, IL, and Todd A.White of Crystal Lake, IL. Steve Smith of Wasilla, Alaska; Jeff Smith of Houston, TX; Faye Smith Koppang of Brentwood, TN; Suzy Smith Swearingen of Decatur, IL; and Stanley Smith of Valdosta, GA.
Great Grandchildren include twins, Evan and Joel White, Luke White, Andreanna LaFaire, Ashley Ingram, Alex Ingram, Lexy Altman and Raquel Altman, Reed and Zachary Smith, Todd E. Smith and Kristy Smith, Taylor Swearingen, Adrienna Smith, Lee Koppang, and Elizabeth Koppang.
Juanita loved to travel and attend cultural events, the opera, symphony, the Alton Little Theater. Juanita was a member of the Eastern Star in Brighton, Upper Alton Women�s Club, Owls Club, and she volunteered for many years at Alton Memorial Hospital. She belonged to many organizations at church and was especially dedicate to Mary�s Circle and did many good deeds. She was dedicated to the College Avenue Presbyterian Church where she was a Deacon and an Elder. Juanita was blessed with many good friends and was beloved by all her family.
