Obituary of Gerald C. Romdall

Gerald Clayton Romdall, age 71, died on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at his residence in Lake Ozark, Missouri. Jerry was born in Mexico, Missouri on July 17, 1939, the son of Robert C. and Bernice A. (Kehl) Romdall. He attended the University of Missouri and William Jewell College. He and his wife Sandy were married for 30 years. Jerry lived in many cities in Missouri during his career as a District Manager for United Parcel Service. He also lived in St. Louis, Missouri; Des Moines, Iowa; and Phoenix, Arizona. He was an entrepreneur starting successful businesses including a car rental company, construction company and several fast food franchises. His most enjoyable career achievement was being selected as part of a team of businessmen who consulted with underperforming businesses around the country helping to bring them back to profitability. Most recently, he retired from Ferguson Roofing Company in St. Louis, serving as President. In retirement, he worked part-time at Bear Creek Valley Golf Club. Jerry was above all, an athlete who played basketball, baseball and football during his high school and college years. He was also invited to try out for the Pittsburgh Pirates farm team. His passion during his adult life was golf. Survivors include his wife Mary Sandra �Sandy� (Stranz) Romdall, daughter Amy E. Olson (Christopher) of St. Louis, MO; sons, Michael A. Romdall (Tena) of Des Moines, IA and Tim Romdall of Lake Ozark, MO; grandchildren are Ryan Frahm and Stephanie Frahm of St. Louis, MO and Cole Romdall and Catie Romdall of Des Moines, IA. Jerry was a loving brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend to many.
