Obituary of Nancy J. Sheely

Nancy J. Sheely, age 72, of Osage Beach, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia, Missouri. Nancy was born November 8, 1938 in Dixon, Illinois, the daughter of H. Emerson and LaVerne (Tucker) Rorer. She was united in marriage on June 19, 1960 to Kenneth E. Sheely, who preceded her in death on January 5, 1995. Nancy worked for the Camdenton RIII School District for 28 years, where she taught Spanish classes. More recently she had served on the Osage Beach Board of Alderman for 4 years. Nancy enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Garden Club and was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a member of Harper Chapel United Methodist Church in Osage Beach where she was actively involved with the UMW group. Nancy was a loving wife and a devoted mother and grandmother who will be missed sorely by her family and friends. Nancy is survived by two sons, Mark Sheely and wife, Helmi, of Columbia, Missouri and Kevin Sheely and wife, Gretchen, of Independence, Missouri;her mother LaVerne Brunett of Osage Beach, Missouri; one brother, Richard Rorer and wife, Lynette of Ft. Worth, Texas; one step-brother, Jack Brunett and wife, Sharon, of Dixon, Illinois; two sisters-in-law, Dot Brunett of Florida and Becky Sheely of Columbia, Missouri; three grandchildren, Webb Sheely, Samantha Sheely and Logan Sheely as well as several other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Kenneth; one step-brother, Richard Brunett; and her step-father, George Brunett.
