Obituary of Marjory Elizabeth Rockwell

Marjory Elizabeth (Boman) Rockwell, age 92 of Fountain, Colorado, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2011 at the Laurie Care Center in Laurie, Missouri. Marjory was born September 3, 1918 in Lincoln, Nebraska and moved to Colorado as an infant. She graduated from Bethel School of Nursing in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1939 as a Registered Nurse. Marjory was employed by Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs and also worked for the State of Colorado in the public health department. She was united in marriage to Clarence Albert Rockwell on June 9, 1940 in Denmore, Kansas. She loved raising a family and being a homemaker and she dearly treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Clarence preceded her in death on February 8, 2005. She enjoyed being involved in various social groups including The Sunshine Sisters Club for over 50 years, the Fountain Valley Homemakers Extension Club, the Pinochle Club and Bridge Club. Marjory and Clarence moved to Missouri in 2004 where they resided at the Laurie Knoll Assisted Living Facility in Laurie, Missouri. She is survived by her three children; Dr. Steven Rockwell and his wife Judy, Kathleen MacGhee and her husband, Maj. Gen. (Ret.) David MacGhee, and Susan Thrams and her husband Michael; three married grandchildren, Richard Rockwell and his wife Michelle, Lt. Col. Ann Igl and her husband Lt. Col. Chadwick Igl, and Amy Knight and her husband Stuart. She has five great grandchildren; Brittany and Elizabeth Rockwell, Clarissa and Noelle Igl, and Laura Knight, along with several other relatives and friends.
