Obituary of Marilyn Alice Wilcox

Marilyn Alice Wilcox, 84, of Linn Creek, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Osage Beach, Missouri. Marilyn was born November 12, 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Walter H. and Marie Schneider. On November 13, 1948, she was united in marriage to Harry L. Wilcox in St. Louis, Missouri. Together they shared 62 years of marriage. She was preceded in death by a brother, Walter H. Schneider, Jr., a son, Mark Thomas Wilcox, and a grandson, Mark Allen Werner. Survivors include her husband, Harry L. Wilcox, of Linn Creek, Missouri; daughter Carol Culley and husband, Stan, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; son, David and wife, Marge of Woodland Park, Colorado; daughter, Janet Birdsong and husband, Rich, of Olathe, Kansas; six grandchildren, Ryan Werner, of Osage Beach, Missouri; Julie Rambo and husband, David, of Camdenton, Missouri; Lauren Birdsong and fianc�, Dave Anderson, of Kansas City, Kansas; Brian, Jeremy and Mathew Wilcox of Woodland Park, Colorado; four great-grandchildren, Blake, Haley and Avery Rambo and Madelynn Anderson; a sister, Lois Finneran and husband Tom; and sister-in-law, Rosemary Schneider; along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Marilyn enjoyed quilting, cooking, boating and was a volunteer in the community. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend. We celebrate the beautiful person she was and all the wonderful memories she created for her loved ones. A special thank you to all the doctors, nurses and healthcare workers who took such good care of her.
