Obituary of James E. Devine

James E. Devine, age 76, of Osage Beach, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri. James was born October 9, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Daniel and Lilly (Meyers) Devine. James was a self-employed carpenter by trade. After moving to Lake of the Ozarks in 1961 he was hired on to help build Tan-Tar-A Resort. James later owned and operated Wildwood Resort, and went on to build Villa Devine Resort, both at which he employed his children to work. James was a �fixer-upper� and enjoyed helping other people. His door was always open for anyone in need. James enjoyed spending time outdoors, but more than anything, he loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. James is survived by five daughters, Nancy Besand of Leslie, Missouri, Judy Hatfield of Camdenton, Missouri, Jeanie Devine and husband, James, of Osage Beach, Missouri, Jamie Ruder and husband, Steve, of Victor, Colorado, and Jenny Devine Halteman of Linn Creek, Missouri; one step-son, Bradley Russell of Osage Beach, Missouri; one brother Robert Devine and wife, Joey, of Eureka, Missouri; one sister, Mary Mahler and husband, George, of Eureka, Missouri; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren along with several other relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents; one son, William �Willie� Devine, and two brothers, William and Leo.
