Obituary of Katherine Denise Williams
Katherine Denise Williams, the daughter of Donald Eugene and Mary Alice Lurz, was born on December 6, 1960 in Geneva, IL. On Tuesday September 27th our Lord decided to call her home. Kathy was 50 years old.
Kathy was baptized at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Batavia, IL. She was born again at the age of 16.
She lived in Batavia, IL until the age of 10 when her family moved to Sunrise Beach, MO. They moved into a lake house where her love for the lake grew. She spent her summers skiing and boating with her two sisters and best friends, Debbie Carnahan and Cindy Slenker. She loved fishing with her dad, even though he would make her clean anything they caught. She graduated from Camdenton High School in 1979, where she played volleyball. After high school, Kathy stayed in the lake area spending time with friends and family. One of her favorite things to do was to grab a bag of crunchy Cheetos and a 6-pack of Miller High Life and head down to the dock with friends to fish.
Katherine met the love of her life, Sean Matthew Williams, in the summer of 1986. They were married on March 17, 1987 in Camdenton, MO. They had two daughters, Jessica, age 24, and Lindsey, age 22.
Of all the jobs Kathy had in her life, wife and mother were the most gratifying. Her loving, generous personality shined in whatever she did. Whether it was cooking meals for twenty when there was only four or attending every ball game, dance recital, and choir concert, Kathy was the most devoted wife and mother anyone could ask for. Just like her relationship with her mother, she was more than just a mom to her girls, she was their best friend. Their relationship with eachother would light up a room. What they shared was truly special and is impossible to put into words.
Kathy was also a granddogmother to Jackson and Ellie. There was nothing she wouldn't share with them, including her ice cream and bed. She scheduled her whole life around Mr. McDoogle and Ellie Belly.
Her favorite place in the world was Grandma and Grandpa Worthley's lake house. She spent countless hours there with her family fishing and boating. Any extra time she had was spent there with Sean. She was an amazing fisherwoman and would always take pride in catching bigger crappie than Sean.
She loved the St. Louis Cardinals and rarely missed a game. Her favorite get away was to a Cardinals game with her family.
Kathy had a true passion for gardening. She spent nearly half of her income on Miracle Grow and countless hours watering and talking to her plants to make them as big and beautiful as possible.
Anyone who knew Kathy will tell you how blessed they were to have had the experience. No one can put into words how much she will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Evan Lurz, her paternal grandmother, Leta Mae Pekala, her paternal grandfather, Jacob Ralph Lurz, and her maternal grandfater, Pete Bellows. She is survived by her husband, Sean Matthew Williams, her two daughters, Jessica Dawn and Lindsey Taylor, her father, Donald Eugene Lurz, her mother, Mary Alice Lurz, and her sisters, Cindy Rae Slenker and Debbie Lee Carnahan.
