Obituary of Roger Wayne Garner
Roger Wayne Garner, 57 of Iberia, Missouri, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at his home in Iberia.
Roger was born August 10, 1954 in Portales, New Mexico to Amon Duke (Bud) and Ella Garner.
Roger was the youngest of three children and was raised in Causey, New Mexico with his sister Marcel and brother Melvin. He attended school in Causey until the age of seventeen where he and his mother moved to Portales, where he graduated in 1972 from Portales High School.
Roger developed a passion for the outdoors young in life, being raised on the farm to later developing a love for the open road and riding his Harley every chance he could.
It was in March of 1983 when he discovered his greatest passion and love after becoming a father to his daughter Shara Monique. Roger devoted his whole world to being the best dad there was. In October 2004, Roger�s world became complete when Shara blessed him with his grandson Jordan. From that moment on his commitment to life was to love and care for the two of them with all he had.
Roger worked for Fairway Construction for 25 years out of Columbia, Missouri. He loved his work and developed lasting and loyal friendships.
Survivors include his daughter Shara and grandson Jordan of the home; sister Marcel Merrick of Causey, New Mexico; sister-in-law Betty Garner of Roswell, New Mexico; numerous other relatives and an abundance of friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his father in 1968, his mother in 1993, his brother Melvin Garner in 2005 and Nephew Sam Burtlett in 2011.
