Obituary of Michael Wayne Robinett

Michael Wayne Robinett, age 50, of Brumley, Missouri, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011 in Osage Beach, Missouri, after a 2 year battle against small cell lung cancer. Michael was born August 7, 1961 in Tuscumbia, Missouri, the son of John Wayne Robinett and Dorothy Irene (Luttrell) Robinett of Brumley, Missouri. He was preceded in death by both parents; a brother, Thomas Robinett; and grandson, Michael Anthony Esposito. Michael is survived by sisters, Anita and Raymond Jefferies of Brumley, Missouri, Carol and Mark Sooter of Osage Beach, Missouri, and Tammy and Dennis Cooper of Brumley, Missouri. He was Husband to Cathy Lynn (Short) Robinett, married February 17, 1979 and Father to Julie Mae Robinett of Rolla, Missouri, Holly Lynn Robinett of Mexico, Missouri, Hollylynn Jewel Robinett of Lenexa, Kansas and Trevor Drake Robinett of Brumley, Missouri; and Grandfather to Abigail, Ella, and Vincent. Mike worked for the City of Osage Beach Public Works Department for 17 years, where he played an instrumental role in organizing and setting up the new water department in which he received numerous certifications, and was recognized as water systems operator of the year by the Department of Natural Resources. Mike and his wife served as foster parents to other children for 15 � years. In his free time, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, demolition derby, mud truck racing and all things automotive, especially if it had anything to do with a big block Chevy engine. Mike was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and papa! He was a great man who has touched and been part of all our lives and will be missed by each of us.
