Obituary of Joe Robert Stubblefield

Joe Robert Stubblefield was born October 4, 1940, at the family farm located along the Dry Glaze in rural Laclede County, Missouri. His parents Charles Alvin Stubblefield and Eunice Nellie Smith Stubblefield raised ten children in a log cabin with no electricity and no running water. Joe grew-up on the back of a horse and horses remained one of his greatest joys throughout his life. On May 9, 1959 Joe married Helen Louise West and they had four children: Patricia, Joe Robert Jr., Robbie and Stacey. As a young man Joes primary occupation began in Kansas City, MO in door-to-door milk delivery. He worked for Meadow Gold, Foremost and Hiland Dairies. After moving his family back to the farm, he started his own business and delivered milk to residents in Lebanon and Camdenton. Joe ended his working career as an Insurance Agent selling insurance for Bankers Life & Casualty Company and later as an independent agent. Joe loved the family farm, where he raised beef cattle, pigs, and horses. Joes final days were at Windsor Estates Skilled Care facility where he died on December 17, 2011. Joe is survived by his daughter, Patricia and husband Stanley Rogers; his son Robbie and wife Lisa; his daughter Stacey and husband Darren Helton. Six grandchildren: David Rogers and wife Heather, Paul Rogers and wife Krista; LaShelle Smith and husband Darren; Michael Stubblefield and wife Rachel; Ty and Abby Helton. Seven great grandchildren: Nolan, Austin, Josie and Drew Rogers; Ryker and Anikyn Smith, Kadence Stubblefield and Joe was a special papa to Amber Fite. He is also survived by his companion of 18 years Pamela Martin and her children and grandchildren: Tosya Fite, Sierra Pendergrass, Brittany Martin; Julian and Ashlyn Nordaker, Isaiah and Kierstyn Pendergrass, and Sophia Lowery. In addition to family he will be missed by many friends. Joe confessed Jesus as his Savior and was baptized in 1987. Joe was not an easy man to get along with, but was truly loved by many.
