Obituary of Dorothy Nell Allison

Dorothy Nell Allison, daughter of Owen Clifford and Lilly Iva Grimmett Bost, was born January 15, 1924 in Senath, Missouri. She went to join our Lord and Savior, Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of eighty seven years, eleven months and twenty-four days. She was preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life, Ed Allison, one daughter, Margo Allison, one grandchild, Jamie Allison; three brothers, Truman Bost, Coy Bost, and Elton Bost; two sisters, Prebel Bost and Berniece Killian. Survivors include three children, Jean Loos of Camdenton, Missouri, Oleta Leggett and husband, Darrell, of Camdenton, Missouri, and James Edward Allison, Jr. and wife, Christine, of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jazmynn Cathey and husband, William of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Shane Prather and wife, Melissa, of Osage Beach, Missouri, Tara Cisneros of Wichita, Kansas, and Sarah Allison of Lebanon, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren, Raine, Megan, Trenton, Ezra, Hayden, Keenon, Dakota, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Dorothy was born and grew up in Senath, which is cotton country down in the boot-heal of Missouri. Dorothy later graduated from Senath High School. In her early teens she began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. being one of the first telephone operators in the country. Upon retirement from Southwestern Bell, Dorothy became a member of The Telephone Company Pioneers. In 1970, Dorothy moved to Lake of the Ozarks and purchased Ol Possum Holler Resort which she later remaned Alli-Lo-Bo Resort, which is now The Fish. In later years, Dorothy loved and watched golf while knitting small children�s blankest for Many Hands Quilting Ministry which provides warmth and comfort for small sick children in need. She was an avid reader, always beginning each day with Gods Good Word. Mom was a loving caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, always putting others first. We celebrate Mom�s life and accomplishments and will always treasure her memories. Mom, being the unmovable rock and reliable soul to all who knew and loved her.
