Obituary of Betty J. Clevenstine
Betty J. Clevenstine, age 88, of Linn Creek, Missouri, departed this life on Monday, February 6, 2012 at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Betty was born May 31, 1923 in Enfield, Illinois, the daughter of Harold Edward and Eulala Irene (Williams) McCurdy.
Betty was united in marriage to Robert Clevenstine on April 9, 1944 in Enfield, Illinois, and together they had lovingly shared 46 years together until his death in 1990.
Betty worked for many years as a clerk for an insurance company. Among her many interests, she enjoyed crochet and gardening as well as her love for reading. Betty was a long time member of Harper Chapel United Methodist Church in Osage Beach where in previous years she was readily involved in various church activities. Betty was also proud to be a 66 year member of the Order of the Easter Star.
Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Betty is survived by on son Robert H. Clevenstine II and wife, Mary, of Bero Beach, Florida; one daughter, Elaine Tiepelman and husband, Raymond, of Linn Creek, Missouri; two grandsons, Todd R. Tiepelman and wife, Laura, of St. Louis, Missouri and Timothy J. Tiepelman and wife, Shana, of St. Louis, Missouri; two great-grandsons, Mason Tiepelman and Austin Kretzer along with several other relatives and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert, and one brother, Charles Robert McCurdy.
