Obituary of Kathryn Rose Carter

Kathryn Katie Rose Carter, age 94, of Osage Beach, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri. Katie was born June 26, 1917 in Crystal City, Missouri and raised south of St. Louis, Missouri. She later married and moved with her husband, Ray, and their two children, Frank and Susann, to Lake of the Ozarks where they owned and operated a resort for several years before retiring. Katie loved the water, going boating, and watching her children and grandson, Kevin, waterskiing. Although she had such a love for the water, she never learned to swim. Guests of the resort wouldnt believe her when she would tell them that she couldnt swim. On a couple of occasions she was thrown in the lake, fully clothed, only to have the guests quickly jump in after her when they found out that she in fact could not swim. She still loved to watch the boats on the water everyday. Katie was very active in her church. She attended Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, but more recently watched Catholic Masses on TV everyday. She enjoyed growing beautiful flowers, playing BINGO and card games, and loved animals of every kind. Katie had three cats; Blackie, Rocky and Jazz that gave her lots of love. Katie, Susann and all three cats would travel in the car together. Franks son Kevin was a very loving grandson. She told him to be a good person to everyone and he is exceptional and helpful. Kevin is married to Meredith and has a beautiful 3 year old son, Ezekiel. He too, loves the water and boatingguess it runs in the family. Katie is survived by her daughter Susann Carter of Osage Beach, Missouri; her son Frank Carter and wife, Kim, of Granbury, Texas; one grandson Kevin Lee Carter and wife, Meredith, and one great-grandson Ezekiel Hawk Carter. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ray; one brother, Frank, and one sister, Mary.
