Obituary of Verna Ruth Rathert

In the early morning hours this Ash Wednesday, February 22, 2012, our Savior Jesus Christ, came and took Verna Ruth Rathert, 83, of Osage Beach, Missouri, to be with Him in Heaven. Verna was born August 24, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the Reverend Paul and Pauline Streufert. Verna was united in marriage to Alfred Rathert on August 5, 1950, and together they had shared the past 61 years until her death. Verna was a loving and devoted wife and helpmate to her husband Paul. She was a wonderful mother to her children and enjoyed creating a beautiful home for her family and friends. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Verna was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Lake Ozark. Verna is survived by her husband Alfred of the home; son, Mark Rathert and wife, Marcia, of Dixon, Missouri; two daughters, Kim Bull and husband, Andy, of Castro Valley, California and Pam Slawinski and husband, Russ, of Osage Beach, Missouri; nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, along with several other relatives and friends.
