Obituary of Harold B. Hill

Harold B. Hill, Sr., age 91, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri. He was born in Joplin, Missouri on August 30, 1920, the son of Roland and Pearl (Fryer) Hill. Harold was united in marriage on September 29, 1940 in Joplin, Missouri, to Dorothy Zimmerman. Harold served his country proudly in the United States Navy during World War II. He later worked for Boeing Corporation in Wichita for over 40 years, retiring in 1980. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing bridge. More than anything, he loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Harold was a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge; a 50 year member of Abou Ben Adhem of Springfield, and a 20 year member of Lake of the Ozarks Shrine Club. Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy J. Hill; his parents Roland and Pearl Hill; one brother and three sisters. He is survived by two sons, Harold B. (Bud) Hill, Jr. and daughter-in-law Thersia C. Hill of Roach, Missouri, and Robert L. Hill of Wichita, Kansas; three grandchildren, Lisa (Bill) Roberson of Cresco, Iowa, Julie (Joe) Black of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Beth (Eric) Hill of Wichita, Kansas; two step-grandsons, David Hoover and Tony Hoover, both of Bremerton, Washington; thirteen great-grandchildren, as well as several other relatives and friends.
