Obituary of Michael Edward Bouffiou

Michael Edward Bouffiou, age 61, of Linn Creek, Missouri, passed away March 29, 2012. Mike, professionally and more lovingly known as Captain Mike, was born October 13, 1950, in Aberdeen, WA, to Charles and Mary Goens Bouffiou. He was raised with three brothers, Kevin (Teri Mohr) Bouffiou, Joe (Kathy) Bouffiou, and Mark Bouffiou, all who survive him, and live in Seattle, WA. After High School, Mike attended Portland State University and graduated in 1973. He enjoyed a career in sales, both Corporate and Independent. After vacationing at Lake of the Ozarks for many years, Mike began living his mid-life dream by moving to the area and starting a pleasure boat charter business on The Pelican, a most unique and beautiful teak Trawler. In 1998, he met his best friend and life partner, Annie Baker. Together they purchased and managed the Cliff House Inn Bed and Breakfast, sharing their home and welcoming lake visitors for five years. At the time of his death, and for the past ten years, Mike was managing member of Celebration Cruises, LLC, overseeing the daily operations and promotion of the Lakes largest charter yacht, The Celebration. Mike was proud of the Lake and our Community, and served two different terms on the Board of The Convention and Visitors Bureau, was active in the LOTOWA (Lake of the Ozarks Wedding Association), and was a member of the Elks Lodge #2517 in Osage Beach, Missouri. In addition to Annie, Mike is survived by two sons, Chad (Devonne) Bouffiou and granddaughters, Brooke and Madilyn, Houston, TX, and Wade Bouffiou of Osage Beach, MO. He was preceded in death by his beloved Mother and Granddaughter, Kaitlyn. Captain Mike was loved, and will be missed by many cherished friends, his family and co-workers. He is remembered for his positive approach to life, his big personality, and even bigger smile, and sparkling blue eyes. His passion was creating special and memorable cruising events on the Lake. Mike loved animals, was an avid reader, and possessed an incredible sense of humor and dry wit. His heart was truly happiest when he was on the water.
