Obituary of Lewis C. Edwards

Lewis C. (Lew) Edwards, age 88, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Barnes Hospital in St Louis, Missouri. Lew was born November 1, 1923 at Portageville, Missouri; he was the first born son of Louis L. and Grace (Jackson) Edwards. Lew was a graduate of Portageville High School, class of 1941 and then served 20 years in the United States Air Force. He served several years overseas; in Europe during World War II, the Berlin Airlift, the Korean Campaign and a tour in Japan. While in the service he earned two years college credit with the University of Maryland and the University of California during off duty hours. In upstate New York he met Rosella Sasuta and they were married September 4, 1956. In 1965 after his retirement from the Air Force, he became a real estate agent at Lake of the Ozarks and continued to be active in real estates sales for many years. He was a member of St Anthony�s Catholic Church in Camdenton and enjoyed singing in the church choir. He was also involved with Medical Missions for Christ. Lew was a member of Lake Regional Hospital Auxiliary, and a charter member of Lake Valley Golf and Country Club. Lew leaves behind his sister, Dorothy Countz of St Charles, Missouri; brothers Jo Edwards of Sherwood Arkansas and Charles Edwards of Florida, along with several other relatives and friends. Lew was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rosella, who passed on October 30, 2011, and brothers, Clell and James Rondal. Lew will be deeply missed by all his family and friends, and all those who knew and loved him.
