Obituary of Delma Wanda Pogue

Delma Wanda Griffin Pogue, (nee Pierlow) passed away peacefully on June 10, 2012 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri. She was born June 13, 1926, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Ferdinand Victor and Beulah May (Burgin) Pierlow. Her family moved to West Plains, Missouri after her father�s death in 1930. It was in West Plains that she met and fell in love with Gordon Vernon Griffin whom she married July 23, 1942. After WW II was over, they settled in St. Louis to raise their family. She and Gordon fulfilled a lifelong dream and learned to fly small planes before his premature death in 1974. She met Rev. Lyle Vernon Pogue and married May 7, 1977, and spent many years working side by side with him in his ministry. A very artistic person, she excelled at sewing, painting and making porcelain dolls and traveled with Silver Dollar City Craft Guild selling her dolls until her health failed. Wanda loved children, and spending time with her grandchildren was the joy of her life. She leaves behind a sister-in-law, Ruth Pierlow, of Osage Beach, Missouri; two children, Deanna Nockunas and her husband, Les of Camdenton, Missouri and Robert Griffin and his wife, Marla, of Linn Creek, Missouri; two step-daughters, Pam McCoskey and her husband, Eugene, of O�Fallon, Illinois and Tricia Sinn and her husband, Frank, of St. Louis, Missouri. She leaves as well six beloved grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, and two brothers, Thomas E. Pierlow of Miami, Florida and Victor F. Pierlow of West Plains, Missouri. Our loss is heaven�s gain. We will miss her greatly.
