Obituary of Walter Lane West

Walter Lane �Walt� West, age 77, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Lakeside Meadows in Osage Beach, Missouri. Walter was born July 2, 1934 in Fort Madison, Iowa, the son of Forrest and Ida (Markle)West. Walt was united in marriage on October 15, 1955 to Sandra Jean Dance, and together they had shared the past 56 years until his death. Walt served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corp. Walt had worked as a brick layer and was a member of the bricklayers union in Illinois. He was an alderman for the city of Lake Ozark, Missouri. He loved hunting and fishing and also owned race horses. His greatest love was watching his grandchildren in sporting events and spending time with his family. Walt is survived by his loving wife Sandra of the home; two sons, Greg West and wife, Sandy of Lake Ozark, Missouri, and Jeff West and friend, Tammy Richard, of Centennial, Colorado; one daughter Lori Montoya of Lake Ozark, Missouri; three brothers, Raymond West, of Manmouth, Illinois, Quentin West and wife, Alberta, of Boulder, Colorado, and Robert West and wife Bonnie, of Laramie, Wyoming; five grandchildren, Jennifer West, Krystal West, Jordan Montoya, Matt West, and Whitney West; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Adelyn, along with several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Forrest and Ida West, one brother, Ernest West and sisters-in- law Maurita West and June West.
