Obituary of Kitty Helen Slenker

Kitty Helen (Duncan) Slenker, 83, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. She was born May 17, 1929 in Iberia, Missouri to Sarah Mildred (Cochran) and Clyde Duncan. Kitty is survived by her sister Glotha Meredith and husband, Gene, of Iberia, Missouri; two sons, Robert Myers and wife, Sarah, of Montreal, Missouri and Barry Myers and wife, Liesje, of Columbia, Missouri. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Jack Duncan and Clay Duncan; three infant siblings; and her two daughters, Mary Paulson and Kathy Rourke. Kitty was a loving mother and worked for many years at the Fudge Shop in Lake Ozark. Kitty will always be remembered for her friendliness and love of conversation. She never met a stranger and her bubbly personality and smile touched the lives of many people. Kitty loved nature and spent much of her time outdoors enjoying her garden, tending to her flowers and feeding birds. A service of remembrance will be held at Concord Christian Church in Crocker, Missouri on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by family friend, Minister Lee A. Todd. Interment will be at Mt. Union Cemetery in Brumley, Missouri.
