Obituary of Harry J. Faigle
Devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Son... Harry J. Faigle, age 73, of Four Seasons, Missouri, departed this life in the presence of his loving family on Monday, July 16, 2012 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Harry was born December 28, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Cardwell and Cleo (Crew) Faigle.
Harry was united in marriage to Linda (Wise) on May 29, 1971 in Osage Beach, Missouri and they were married 41 years before his death in 2012.
Harry began his career in 1955 working at the Chase Park Plaza as a package boy. He then worked his way up through the ranks and followed Harold Koplar to the Lake Area in 1970 where he was the Convention Services Manager at the Lodge of the Four Seasons for years until his retirement in the late 1990s. He then sold real estate for Four Seasons Realty until his second retirement in 2004. He was a small business owner which included a shooting preserve, a restaurant, and an antique shop. Harry loved the Lake area and enjoyed all that it had to offer.
Through his employment in the hotel industry, he met many celebrities and historical figures such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Minnesota Fats. While at the Chase Park Plaza, he met Jimmy Hoffa and Richard Nixon during their stays.
Harry served in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He also received numerous honors including a page in the Shriners Gold Book, the title of Kentucky Colonel, and he was appointed a Commodore of the Lake of the Ozarks. He was a charter member of the Lake Area Rotary Club and one of the founding members of the HK Benefit Golf Tournament.
Harry loved his family greatly. His sense of humor and pranks kept us all on our toes. He was at his happiest when spending time with his friends and family. He especially enjoyed Christmas, the anticipation of it occupied much of the year. His loss creates a deep void that will not be filled.
