Obituary of Mildred Emma Redman

Mildred Emma Redman, age 92, of Laurie, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Laurie Care Center, Laurie, Missouri. Mildred was born February 4, 1920 in Braymer, Missouri, the daughter of James B. and Jessie R. (Yokum) Clevenger. She was united in marriage to Rollin McElwee from 1939 until his death in 1979 and was then married to Oscar Redman from 1981 until his death in 2006. Mildred was a loving and devoted wife and mother and enjoyed creating a beautiful home for her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery in her spare time and loved to travel anywhere. More than anything, Mildred loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Mildred is survived by two sons, Rick McElwee and wife, Jo, of Camdenton, Missouri, and Dale McElwee and wife, Sarah, of Camdenton, Missouri; one daughter, Betty Beal and husband, Larry, of Camdenton, Missouri; on brother, Donald B. Clevenger and wife, Mary, of Braymer, Missouri; three sisters, Maxine Hawkins of Braymer, Missouri, Nadine Silkwood of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Louise Shaver of Fort Smith, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Shelly Mabery, Terri Holstrom and Brandon McElwee; two great-grandchildren, McKayla Mabery and Trevor Holstrom as well as other relatives and friends. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jessie Clevenger; her husbands, Rollin McElwee and Oscar Redman; two brothers, Herbert Clevenger and Buford Clevenger; and one great-grandson, Cody Mabery. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 24, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Laurie Knolls in Laurie, Missouri. Additional services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Braymer, Missouri. Interment will be at Black Oak Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri.
