Obituary of Edward William Mehl

Edward William (Pete) Mehl, Jr., age 81, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Lake Meadows Care Center in Osage Beach, Missouri. Pete was born May 29, 1931 in Kingston, New Jersey, the son of Edward William Mehl, Sr. and Mildred Briggs. Pete was united in marriage on October 19, 1974 in Camdenton, Missouri to Marlene Jorgensen. Pete served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He owned and operated Princeton Excavating for 15 years in New Jersey before moving to Camdenton. He started Niangua Excavating and owned it from 1970 until 2007. He was also owner of Suburban Sanitation in Camdenton and was a reserve deputy with the Camden County Sheriff�s Department for 30 years. Pete was an avid outdoorsmen and loved hunting and fishing. More than anything he loved being with his family. Pete is survived by his wife Marlene of the home; one son, Edward W. Mehl III and companion Brenda, of Camdenton, Missouri; two daughters, Jan Rothove and husband, Jerry, of Camdenton, Missouri, and Tracy VanBibber and companion Ben, of Monett, Missouri; step-son, William Sorensen and wife, Joy, of Blue Springs, Missouri two step-daughters, Barbara Whitworth and husband Ken, of Macks Creek, Missouri, and Susan Newland, of Springfield, Missouri; his sister Carol Dimeglio, of Seaside, New Jersey; seventeen grandchildren and many great- grandchildren. Pete was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Mehl.
