Obituary of Richard Dale McDowell

Richard Dale McDowell, Sr., age 65, of Branson, Missouri, passed away Monday, October 1, 2012 at his residence in Branson. Richard was born July 23, 1947 in Montreal, Missouri, the son of Elisha and Bertha Snelling McDowell. Richard was united in marriage on June 1, 1966 in Lake Ozark, Missouri to Linda Black, and together they had shared 46 years of marriage until his death. Richard loved to �torment� people in a loving way. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he loved riding his Gold Wing. More than anything though, he loved his family dearly and spending time with them. He was a member of Friendly Baptist Church in Branson. Richard is survived by his wife Linda, of the home; one son, Richard D., Jr. and his wife, Christina, of Branson, Missouri; three daughters, Tamatha Wood and husband, Jerry, of Camdenton, Missouri, Shanda McDowell-Cheevers and husband, Greg, of Macks Creek, Missouri and Lori Elliott of Branson, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Richard McDowell III, Joshua McDowell, Danielle Clark, Jessica Daniels, Jacob Elliott, Kindra Elliott and Timothy Elliott; sisters-in-law, Shirley McDowell and Joyce McDowell; along with several other relatives and friends.. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Wilford and Willard.
