Obituary of Lorene J. Simmons

Lorene J. Simmons, age 86, of Macks Creek, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Windsor Estates, Camdenton, Missouri.

Lorene was born May 14, 1931 in Dry Ridge, Missouri.  She was the daughter of Alvie and Olivia (Green) Hicks.

On May 14, 1949 in Branch, Missouri Lorene was united in marriage to Paul Dean Simmons. They had shared 60 years of marriage together at the time of his death on August 3, 2009.

Lorene was a loving and devoted wife and helpmate to her husband. She was also a caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her children and their families. Lorene enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. She also served on the board for the Macks Creek Senior Center.

She is survived by her sons; Rick and wife Carol of Independence, Missouri and Ron and wife Becky of Independence, Missouri; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; one sister, Fordia Glanville and two brothers, Len and wife Pricillia, Jack and wife Adeline.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alvie and Olivia Hicks; husband Paul Dean Simmons; brother Kenneth; sisters Reva, Fern and Irene.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Macks Creek, Missouri. Family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to service at the funeral home.
