Obituary of Emmett F. Scott

Emmett F. Scott, 80, of Brumley, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

 

Emmett was a lifelong resident of the lake area, born April 28, 1938 in Osage Beach, Missouri.  He was the son of Fred and Ida Frances (Young) Scott.

 

He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy and after his honorable discharge, he began working in the landscaping business in the lake area, eventually owning and operating his own business.

 

On June 3, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Emmett was united in marriage to Kathlyn Payne.  They shared nearly 48 years of marriage together at the time of his death.

 

Emmett loved the Lake of the Ozarks , and was an avid historian of the Osage Beach area and of the Lake of the Ozarks.   He enjoyed spending his days outdoors with nature and especially enjoyed watching the birds that graced the area.   More than anything, Emmett loved his family and his greatest joy in life was spending time with them.

 

Emmett is survived by his loving wife, Kathlyn; his daughter Sharon Luttrell and husband, Tim, of Brumley, Missouri; his step-children, Randy Eastman of Kaiser, Missouri, Ronney Eastman of Camdenton, Missouri, and Rhonda Eastman of Osage Beach, Missouri; four grandchildren, Joshua Luttrell and wife, Hannah, Shelynna Luttrell, James Eastman, and Kodi Eastman; along with several other relatives and many friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ida Scott; and one step-son, Rene Eastman.

 

Services will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 12:00 pm at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Missouri.  The family will welcome friends for visitation from 10:00 am --12:00 pm prior to services at the funeral home.

 

Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Kaiser, Missouri.
