John Niemeyer

Obituary of John Niemeyer

John Niemeyer, age 68, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 8, 2021. John and his wife Vonnie were involved in an auto accident which took the life of John and severely injured his wife.

John moved down to Missouri from Rochelle, Illinois about 19 years ago to run his Dairy Queen businesses in Lauri and Osage Beach. After selling both businesses, he semi-retired and went to Culver’s in Osage Beach where he enjoyed working.

On December 13, 2014, John married the love of his life, Vonnie. They lived in the Village of Four Seasons.

John loved to play golf, which he did in his spare time every chance he got. Even when he would go visit his in-laws, they fit golf in somehow. John loved almost every sport and when he fully retired in 2018, you could find him watching sports all day long. The remote took a beating and it’s surprising the buttons still work.

There wasn’t a time you didn’t see John smiling. He was a good listener and was so kind-hearted he would give anyone the shirt off his back.

John was the best husband. His wife, Vonnie, says they broke the mold when it came to that. She feels so blessed. John was her everything and she misses him deeply and always will.

John leaves behind his loving wife Vonnie; his daughters Dawn, Jeana, and Erin; his brother Dave; his niece Laura (Josh Rotello); and nephew Kyle; as well as many more relatives and good friends.
