Obituary of Sandra K. Shupe

Sandra K. "Sandy"  Shupe,79, of Linn Creek, Missouri, passed away in her home on  Tuesday, morning,  June 8, 2021 from terminal brain cancer, surrounded by her dogs and loving partner, Jim.

 

Sandy was born in Rome, Georgia, June 7, 1942 to John Rupee and Katherine Morris. The family moved from Georgia to Kansas City, Missouri when Sandy was a child, where she helped her mother and aunt raise her two siblings and a few cousins.  She later moved to Linn Creek, Missouri and opened The Yankee Peddler in Osage Beach, where she has been a pillar of the local antiques community for the better part of 40 years.

 

Sandy is survived by her partner of 18 years, James Wallenburn of Linn Creek, Missouri; sister, Debra O'Rear and husband, Dr. James O'Rear of Joplin, Missouri; step-son Craig Shupe, of Taos, New Mexico; nephew Neil O'Rear of Joplin, Missouri; nieces, Cassie Garrison of Jefferson City, Missouri, Kristin Garrison of Springfield, Missouri and Katie Byrd of Nashville, Tennessee; and her 5 loyal and loving dogs, Half-Pint, Baxter, Freckles, Sadie and Slugger.

 

Sandy is preceded in death by her father, John Rupee; her mother Katherine Clemens nee Morris; her step-son, Ricky Shupe; and her brother Mark Clemons.

 

A Celebration of Sandy's life will be held at 4:30 pm,  Friday, June 18, 2021at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri.  The family will welcome friends for visitation from 3:00-4:30 pm prior to services at the funeral home.
