Obituary of Mabel Faye Adkins Sanders

Mable Faye Adkins Sanders, 87, of Thompson, died Monday, June 14, 2021, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri.

She was born March 26, 1934, in Haynesville, Louisiana., the daughter of Drexel “Billy” and Tressie (Beavers) Adkins. On March 26, 1961, she married Arthur “Sonny” Sanders in Midland, Texas. He preceded her in death on January. 20, 2020. Three brothers, two sisters, two sons, Billy “Dink” Veazey, Scott Sanders and a daughter Pam Garrett also preceded her in death.

A sister, Nell Rose Adkins Turner, of Houston, Texas, survives. She also is survived by two sons, Darryl (Karen) Veazey of Centralia, Steve (Elizabeth) Sanders of Thompson; three daughters, Sadie (Larry Dean) Adams of Paris, Sheila (Jay) Eastlick of Kaiser, and Shari (Leroy) Childs of Jefferson City; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 4 great, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mable worked at A.B. Chance Co. in Centralia for 23 years, retiring in 1999. Her greatest pleasure in life was enjoying her many grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and any other children who came into her life.

Graveside service will be at noon on Saturday, June 19, 2021 in Dwight Mission Cemetery in Vian, Oklahoma.
