Obituary of Helen L. Sassmann

Helen L. Sassmann, age 75,  of Montreal, Missouri, departed this life on Friday,  June 18, 2021.  She was born June 28, 1945 to Carl O and Armelde M Henke in St. Louis, Missouri.

On November 27, 1976, she was united in marriage to Charles A Sassmann. One child was born to this marriage, Bethany L Bowen (Curtis) of Montreal, who survives the home.

Other survivors include her step children, Mark A Sassmann and Annette Sieve (James) of Defiance, Missouri; her sisters, Harriet (Scott) Kosky and Hilda (Jack) Pieschel; gandsons,  Seth Sassmann, Logan Stephens and Harrison Stephens.

Helen was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, cousin, friend and second “mother” to many. 

Helen retired from Southwestern Bell and throughout her life was always helping others.  She spent many years as a board member with Dewey's Toys for Kids.  She was always known as the “funny one” and brightened any room with her wit. One of her last phrases was, “I don’t want to miss anything”. She truly lived life to the fullest. 

A Celebration of Helen's Life will be held from 1:00-3:00 pm, Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri.

Charitable donations may be made to Lake of the Ozarks Idiots Club or Shriner's Hospitals for Children.
