JoAnn Treese

Obituary of JoAnn Elizabeth Treese

JoAnn Elizabeth Treese, age 70, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at home with her loving husband of 47 years, Harold, and dog, Lacey, by her side.

JoAnn was born November 5, 1950, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of Norbert and Agnes (Berhorst) Schellman.  She grew up in Jefferson City and graduated from Helias Catholic High School. She went on to attend the University of Missouri, Columbia.

She was united in marriage March 9, 1974, in Jefferson City to Harold Treese.  Together Harold and JoAnn moved from Jefferson City to Camdenton in 1981 and it became their new home.  Immediately, they began to build a network of friends, which later became their Lake Family. She enjoyed spending time with all family and friends while making new memories. She was a wonderful cook, and everyone always wanted to know her recipes.  They built several houses around the area over the years. JoAnn loved her home and she made it absolutely perfect in every way.

JoAnn built a career as a mother, homemaker, and started a business consulting around her passion for Interior Decorating.  She was an expert at all.  She had so many interests and passions. She was always busy doing something, you rarely found her sitting idle. In her free time, she also enjoyed playing golf, traveling, nature, finding a good book, being at the beach, a good coffee in the morning, shopping, dining, baseball games, snuggling with her dog(s), and more.

JoAnn was a beautiful, kind, caring woman with class, style, and a great sense of humor. She loved her family and was an amazing wife and mother. She was full of creativity and thrived when able to do anything crafty. She had a strong faith in God.

JoAnn had a giant and open heart for all animals. She loved all dogs, cats, hummingbirds, bluebirds, monarch butterflies, bees, and more. If you couldn’t find JoAnn, it’s very likely that she was tending to her flower gardens to make sure the flowers were blooming at just the right times to support the butterflies and bees.

JoAnn supported several different organizations, but she was most passionate about giving her time to Big Brothers Big Sisters, and donating to Dogwood Animal Shelter, St. Jude, and Sierra Club.

JoAnn is survived by her husband, Harold of the home; her son, Brad and wife, Claudia, of Costa Mesa, California; her sister, Mary Burre and husband, Kelly, of Holts Summit, Missouri; four brothers, Leon “Max” Schellman and wife, Jeanne, of Cincinnati, Ohio, John Schellman and wife, Debbie, of Jefferson City, Missouri, Mike Schellman and Gary Schellman, both of Jefferson City, Missouri; three nieces and five nephews, along with numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and countless friends.
