Obituary of Jessie Hillard Bettis

Jessie Hillard Bettis, age 83, of Roach, Missouri passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 at his home in Roach.

Jessie was born September 24, 1937 in Center, Arkansas, the son of Jewell and Margaret (Haney) Bettis.

On August 13, 1956, Jessie was united in marriage to Iva Mae Gallamore in Grandview, Missouri. They shared 65 years together.

Jessie accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on April 7, 1956 and was baptized in Sugar Creek, Kansas City, Missouri. He was ordained as a deacon in Calvary Baptist Church, Sedalia, Missouri. He was a member of Macks Creek Baptist Church, Macks Creek, Missouri.

Jessie enjoyed going fishing and collecting rocks. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Jessie is survived by his wife Iva Bettis of the home; son Jessie W. Bettis of Roach, Missouri; daughters Lee Ann Lich (Dean) of Saginaw, Texas and Linda Kramer of Wylie, Texas; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and sister Judy Ann Becker of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Jessie was preceded in death by his parents Jewell and Margaret Bettis; brothers John Franklin Bettis and Charles Wesley Bettis; sister Pauline Harms Boyett; daughter Leisa Renee Bettis; and son-in-law Clifford Kramer.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
