The History of Hedges-Scott Funeral Home

Walter and Norma Hedges

In 1941, the family owned business of W.T. Hedges, Sr., Walter P. Hedges and Billy Jr. Hedges, owned funeral homes in Iberia, Crocker, Waynesville, Stoutland, Richland and Meta. The Camdenton funeral home was established in 1954 and was managed by W.T. Hedges, Sr. and wife, Mary I. Hedges. Upon the death of W.T. Hedges, Sr. in 1960, Walter P. and Norma J. Hedges moved to Camdenton to run the family owned business. They later added Macks Creek and Osage Beach funeral homes to their Lake of the Ozarks locations. Tim Scott, a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1980, began managing the funeral homes in 1996. In 2007, he and his wife, Joy, purchased the business from Walter and Norma.

Today, Hedges-Scott Funeral Homes, located at the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks, are comprised of 3 Funeral Homes, 2 Crematories, 2 Cemeteries, and monument sales. With locations in Camdenton, Macks Creek, and Osage Beach, Tim and Joy are proud to be the Lake of the Ozarks only home owned, family owned and operated funeral homes, on-premise crematories, cemeteries, and monument sales.
