Obituary of Edward L. Tabler

Edward L. Tabler, age 89, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri. He was born October 25, 1918 in Carterville, Missouri, a son to Leroy and Clara (Beckett) Upton. Edward was a member of the Painters District Council No. 2 in St. Louis, Missouri, retiring in 1982. He and his wife Elizabeth Ann moved to the lake area in January 1983. Soon after moving to the lake he began working at the information booth located at the Bagnell Dam parking lot, then later at Willmore Lodge and finally at the Osage Beach City Hall where he provided visitors with information about the lake area. He served the Chamber for a total of 17 years. Mr. Tabler served in the U.S. Army for five years during World War II, and was an instructor of firearms for enlisted men during their first days in service. In addition to his wife Elizabeth Ann, Mr. Tabler is survived by his son Larry Tabler, daughter; Janice Ziegler and husband Richard, grandson; Timothy Ziegler, grand-daughters; Amanda Nolan and husband Richard, Erin Adamski and husband Tyler and Kimberley Ziegler.
