Obituary of William R. 'Bill' Scoggin

Bill Scoggin passed from this life in peace at home after a lengthy battle with cancer on Friday, May 23, 2008. He was born on October 29, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri son of Wallene and the late Robert Scoggin. He was united in marriage to Diana, who survives of the home, and together they shared the last 22 years. Bill graduated from Southwest Missouri State University and the University of Missouri School of Optometry. He practiced optometry with his wife and partners at Family Eyecare Associates in Laurie and Lake Ozark. He cared deeply for his patients and considered it a privilege to care for them. He was a Christian and a member of First Baptist Church Camdenton. He remained steadfast in hope and although he never received physical healing on earth, he is now completely whole for eternity as promised by his faith. Bill treasured family and friendship, he loved to play and was always ready for fun. He loved all kinds of sports. He especially enjoyed golfing and hunting with his friends and snow skiing with his family. His daughters have many memories of family RV vacations. His passion was coaching kids� sports. He coached tee ball and softball, soccer and basketball. Although he had many nicknames, his favorite thing to be called, other than Daddy, was �Coach Bill.� He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Scoggin and his grandparents Walter and Zoe Nottebrok and Robert and Maude Scoggin. He is survived by his wife Diana and daughters Sarah and Jennifer of the home, his mother Wallene Scoggin of Rogers, Minnesota, sister Kathlyn Ohnemus and husband Steven of St. Michael, Minnesota and their daughters Jaclyn, Stephanie and Andrea. Also surviving are his parents-in-law James and Anne Meade of Lebanon, Missouri, sister-in-law Judith Wall and husband Russell and niece Abigail Wall of Bolivar, Missouri.
