Obituary of Ruth Julie Albin
Ruth Julie Albin passed away Thursday, May 22, 2008 in Laurie, Missouri.
She was born in Stuttgart, Germany on December 25, 1920 to Eugene Paul Lechler and Elise Pauline (Narr) Lechler. She immigrated to the United States with her family when she was five years old. She graduated from Ramsey High School, in Ramsey, New Jersey in 1940.
She joined the United States Marine Corps in 1943. She worked in the post office and was a Corporal when she got out. She married Master Sergeant Bill Albin May 13, 1944 in Santa Barbara, California. She worked civil service at El Toro, California, McAlester Naval Ammunition Depot, the Oklahoma City Veterans Administration, and the Federal Aviation Administration. She had lived in Sunrise Beach since 1993. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a 35 year member of the American Legion. She belonged to the Zack Wheat Post.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bill Albin, her two sons and their spouses William Russell and Doris Albin, Franklin Eugene and Rosa Lee Albin, one daughter Ruth Ann Albin Prince, one granddaughter Ashley Sylvester her husband Sergeant Jason Sylvester, and two grandsons, Stephen Wendell Albin and Brian Scott Albin and four great grandchildren, Stephen William Albin, Alexa Albin, Andrew and Jacob Sylvester.
She was preceded in death by her parents , Eugene and Elise Lechler, two brothers, Curt and Heinz Lechler, and a grandson, Thomas Franklin Prince
