Obituary of John Scott Hueston
John Scott Hueston, age 70, formerly of Gas City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008 in Iberia, Missouri. He is survived by his wife, Janet Hueston. In addition, he is survived by three sons; John and wife Beverly, Jeff and wife Debbie, and Greg, and his daughter, Suzanne Fankhauser and husband Brent. John has nine grandchildren; Jennifer, Jeremy, Kennard and Laura of Maryland; Bryce, Chad, Murphy and Diana of Indiana; and Chase of Colorado.
John graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1955 and entered Naval Service as a SEABEE. He married the former Janet Lamb of Fairmount, Indiana, in November of that same year. They raised their four children as a Navy family; living at various duty stations including California, Nevada and Hawaii. John and Janet celebrated their fifty-second wedding anniversary in 2007.
During his career in the Navy, John served at many duty locations throughout the world, including three tours in Viet Nam. During those tours, he was assigned to special teams that were forward deployed in support of operations throughout South Viet Nam. John retired from naval service as a Chief Petty Officer in 1982. His service in the U.S. Navy is part of a family legacy which includes his father, his three sons and two of his grandchildren.
