Obituary of Jerry Luper

Jerry Luper, age 68, of Lake Ozark, Missouri passed away Monday, September 22, 2008 at his residence. He was born August 27, 1940 in Warren County, Illinois, a son to Lawrence o"Dell and Mary Ruth (Bagley) Luper. Jerry was united in marriage on August 19, 1967 in Norris, Illinois to Cheryl Roffey. Jerry graduated in 1958 from Prairie City High School in Bushnell, Illinois. He worked as Service Manager of a Tempo Store in Canton, Illinois and as a City Mechanic in Canton for over seventeen years. He also had worked at Hornbakers, a Massey-Ferguson Dealer in Bushnell, Illinois, as well as Beard & Jones and Massey Harris Oldsmobile in Bushnell. Jerry had served as Trustee on the Copperas Creek Fire Protection District in Illinois and as a Trustee of the Monterey Methodist Church in Monterey, Illinois where he was a member. He was also president of the Mid-Mo Pure Power Tractor Club in Illinois. Jerry started the Osage Beach Mid-Mo Tractor Club and was a member of the National Edge and T.A. He was a member of the Osage Beach/Linn Creek Lion's Club. Jerry enjoyed fishing and boating and loved tractors. Jerry is survived by his wife Cheryl of the home; two brothers, Ralph Edward Luper and wife Cecelia of Table Grove, Illinois and Harold Eldon Luper of Bushnell, Illinois along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kenneth Lawrence Luper.
