Obituary of Jessie Lena Wrinkle

Jessie Lena Wrinkle of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Osage Beach Health Care Center, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of 101 years, 6 months and 28 days. Jessie was born March 2, 1907 in Taney County near Branson, Missouri. She was the first daughter of Harrison Asbury Rosencrans and Ella Maude Hopkins. After graduation from High School, she attended Draughon�s Business College in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Upon completion of her degree in business, she worked for an insurance and real estate company in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was also associated with leading insurance and real estate companies in the Tulsa / Pryor, Oklahoma area as manager of their insurance departments. She was a charter member of the National Insurance Women�s Association where she served as Vice-President of the Tulsa Chapter and was editor of the �Airwaves� publication for this organization. At the age of sixteen, she became a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where she has always been active, having sung in the choir, and was the first woman elder elected in the First Christian Church, Pryor, Oklahoma. She was also Chairman of the Christian Women�s Fellowship of Oklahoma �Green County� where she served for two years. On August 31, 1941, she married Milan A. Wrinkle of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and they were married for forty years prior to his death in 1981. Having lived in Pryor, Oklahoma for 24 years, Jessie moved to the Oklahoma Christian Home Complex, Edmond, Oklahoma in 1986. In June 2005, she moved to Camdenton, Missouri, where she resided in the Osage Beach Health Care Center until her death. She was a member of Community Christian Church of Camdenton. At age 100 in 2007, Jessie was chosen Valentine Queen at Osage Beach Health Care Center. In April 2007, she was chosen Senior Dogwood Festival Queen for Camden County and rode on a float in the annual parade. In June 2007, she was chosen Region 7 Queen for the Missouri State Nursing Home Association, and participated in the State Finals in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and four brothers. She is survived by two step-daughters and numerous nieces and nephews, along with many friends and relatives who dearly loved her and will miss her.
