Obituary of Nellie DeGraffenreid Jeffries

Nellie DeGraffenreid Jeffries passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of 94 years, 10 months and 17 days. She was born December 4, 1913 at Glaize Township, Camden County, Missouri, a daughter to Elijah B. and Olive M. (Huddleston) DeGraffenreid. She was united in marriage to Edward Tolliver Jeffries who preceded her in death July 16, 1966. Nellie retired from Mills Elementary School in Lake Ozark, Missouri where she had worked in the cafeteria. Nellie loved flowers and gardening. She loved sewing and crocheting, reading, and cooking for her large family. Nellie is survived by sons James Edward Jeffries and wife Kathy of Lake Winnebago, Missouri and Larry Ray Jeffries and wife Sylvia of Sandy, Utah; daughters Wanda June Howser of Kaiser, Missouri, Vonda Jean Teitmeyer and husband Clarence of Hereford, Colorado, Phyllis Dean Oesterly and husband Neil of Camdenton, Missouri and Daisy Ellen Brown and husband Leroy of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; brothers Floyd DeGraffenreid of Brumley, Missouri and Lloyd DeGraffenreid and wife Veda of Brumley, Missouri; daughter-in-law Caroline Jeffries of Kansas City, Missouri, twenty grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward; one son Richard; three brothers, Rollins, Earl and Gail DeGraffenreid; two sisters, Carrie Arnold and Glee Martin.
