Obituary of Leonard Cross

Reverend Leonard Edward Cross, Jr., age 47, of Stoutland, Missouri, departed this life Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri. He was born January 13, 1961 in Lebanon, Missouri, a son to Leonard Sr. and Judy Cross. On February 16, 1980, he was united in marriage to Sherry Lawrence at Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church in Montreal, Missouri. Leonard was a truck driver and also worked in concrete construction. He had professed his faith and was saved and baptized at a young age. He served faithfully as a minister and ordained deacon in the church. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and horses. He loved music, but more than anything he loved spending time with is family and friends. Leonard was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his many accomplishments and will cherish the memories left behind. He is survived by his wife Sherry Lawrence Cross of the home; three children, Levi Cross (Laura and Audrey Moore of Springfield, Missouri), Paige Cross Chaffin and husband Larry of Lebanon, Missouri and Lane Cross of the home; mother Judy Cross of Republic, Missouri; one brother, Eric Cross of Camdenton, Missouri; three sisters, Amber Meads and husband Gary of Camdenton, Missouri, Heather Cross-Roberts of Republic, Missouri and Pamela Williams of Camdenton, Missouri; two grandchildren, Cadance and Savannah Chaffin along with many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Cross, Sr. and one grandchild, Alexia Maria Chaffin.
