Obituary of Clara E. Stisser

Clara E. Stisser, age 90, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 5, 2008 at Osage Beach Health Care Center, Osage Beach, Missouri. She was born on March 16, 1918 in Wellsville, New York, the fifth of nine children to Charles and Dorthea Ballerstein. She attended the Wellsville Public Schools through High School. She then worked as a secretary for Sinclair Oil Company and also in a secretarial position in Bridgeport Connecticut during World War II. She married Clarence �Rip� Stisser in December of 1945. Rip preceded her in death in 2000. Clara and Rip moved to Crete, Illinois from western New York in 1958 where Clara was employed as the city clerk/collector. They retired in 1974 and moved to Osage Beach in 1975. Clara was very active at Hope Lutheran Church in Osage Beach and held several positions in the church during her 33 years of retirement. She and Rip were also active participants in the Osage Beach Lion�s Club and the Golden Agers for many years. Clara enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, cooking and fishing. She was always active in her church and community and her many friends and family will miss her. She is survived by one daughter Jane Sieradzki of Lake Ozark, Missouri and one son Paul Stisser of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one brother Carl Ballerstein of Florida; one sister Ruth Stisser of Wellsville, New York along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son Greg Stisser.
