Obituary of Albert Ray Blackmore
Albert Ray Blackmore, age 84, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2009 at his residence.
He was born May 15, 1924 in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Albert joined the United States Army in March 31, 1943, was involved in Normandy, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe as a par-a-trooper, where he received the Victory Ribbon, American Theatre Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Ribbon with four Bronze Stars and three Overseas Bars. He was honorably discharged on July 2, 1944.
Al was united in marriage to Jonell Grammer on October 16, 1982.
Al had worked for the auto industry in supervisory positions. He enjoyed making jewelry and was a member of Troy Masonic Lodge and Job Daughters in Troy, Missouri. Al was active in the Disciples of Christ Church both in Sunrise Beach, Missouri and Troy Missouri.
He was a loving and devoted husband, step father and grandfather who loved his family dearly. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will cherish the memories he created for a lifetime.
Al is survived by his wife Jonell of the home; his step daughters, Joan Marie Fisher of Arizona and Dorothy Skinner of Bolivar, Missouri; four grandchildren and one great grandchild, along with other relatives and friends.
