Obituary of Mary Jane Patton
Mary Jane Patton, age 88, a resident of Four Seasons, Missouri, passed away after a long illness on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Lake Ozark Retirement Center, Osage Beach, Missouri.
Mary was born on October 27, 1920 in Moberly, Missouri, the daughter of Ocha G. Pile and Rebecca M. (Welch) Pile. She attended school at Salisbury, Missouri and the University of Missouri Columbia. During World War II, she served as a Yeoman First Class in the WAVES, stationed primarily at the Navy Department in Washington, D.C. She worked in various secretarial positions, most recently with the Lee�s Summit, Missouri School District.
Mary was an avid golfer, tennis player and enjoyed sports of all kinds. She was widely traveled and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a member of the Lake Ozark Christian Church.
Mary will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the concern and attention given by Care Connectors of the church, and the loving care Mary received from the staff of Lake Ozark Retirement Center.
Mary is survived by her husband John S. Patton of the home; two children, John L. Patton and wife Lyndi of Olathe, Kansas and Mary Taylor and husband Daryl also of Olathe, Kansas; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie Wormsley and Becky Raasch of Overland Park, Kansas along with several other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Lake Ozark Christian Church Building Fund.
