Obituary of William John Kuhlow

William John Kuhlow died Monday, February 2, 2009 at home in Osage Beach, Missouri. He was born March 22, 1948 to Kenneth William and Margaret A. (Lux) Kuhlow in Janesville, Wisconsin. Bill attended St. Mary�s School and graduated from Janesville Senior High School. He attended Loras College, Dubuque, IA and held a B.S. in Economics from Loyola University � Chicago. He was an Air Force veteran. Bill was married on May 26, 1973 to Kerry Colleen Rogan in Glenview, IL. They have a daughter, Alison Erin (Jeffrey) Butz of Park City, Utah; three sons, William Matthew Kuhlow of Ankeny, IA, Peter Rogan Kuhlow of Salt Lake City and Kevin Patrick Kuhlow of Windsor Heights, IA; and two grandsons, Kenneth Hartman Butz and Andrew Jeffrey Butz. He also leaves a brother, Thomas (Carol) Kuhlow of Milton, WI and a sister, Mary (David) Viney of Evansville, WI, five nieces, Kathryn (Thomas) Collier, Sara (Trevor) Long, Katherine Markshausen, Jennifer (Aaron) Schneeberger and Anna (Geoffrey) Huber, six nephews, Michael Kuhlow, John (Kristen) Kuhlow, Joshua Kuhlow, Michael Markshausen, Zachary (Hinako) Kuhlow and Daniel (Toni) Viney, a father-in-law, Capt. Martin Rogan USN, ret. and a sister-in-law, Karen (Kurt) Markshausen. He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, James (2008) Bill had a career in real estate management and development for over 35 years. He was a property manager, Senior Housing, for The Chicago Housing Authority. Bill was a Real Estate manager for the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad. He assisted the court appointed trustee in the liquidation of real estate assets following the railroad�s filing of bankruptcy in January, 1980. He generated unrecognized and non-inventoried value through unique approaches toward the disposition of that real estate. In 1984, the Chicago Pacific Corporation was created as the reorganized company. From 1984-1989 he was the Director of Real Estate for the Chicago Pacific Corporation. He was the Director of Corporate Real Estate and Economic Development for Maytag, Newton, IA from 1989 to 1998. At the time of his death, he was president of Cody Road Development and President of Horseshoe Bend Development Group. He assisted with the founding of the Bagnell Dam Strip Association, a citizen based planning and economic development group. He was a planning consultant and market strategist for Silver Star Development.
