Obituary of Edward J. Thompson
Edward J. Thompson, age 81, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Miller County Care facility in Tuscumbia, Missouri.
He was born on September 30, 1927 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. His mother and father were Phillip John and Cecile (Prouix) Thompson, and he was raised along with one brother, Phillip John, Jr.
Ed graduated from Bridgeport High School in Connecticut. He then went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Navy for 3 years where he was a 2nd Class Electrician Mate. After the Navy he attended the University of Bridgeport and graduated from there with an engineering degree.
He was united in marriage on May 28, 1949 to Pauline (Healy) and together they had shared 55 years of marriage until Pauline�s death in 2004.
Ed had worked as a consulting engineer and was owner of The Print Shop in Lake Ozark, Missouri for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing and did a lot of traveling. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Ed was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his accomplishments and will cherish the memories he created for his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Edward Thompson and wife Karen of Chicago, Illinois and Laurie Fritchey and husband Derrell of Brumley, Missouri; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren along with several other relatives and friends.
Beside his wife Pauline, Ed was preceded in death by his parents, two step-grandchildren and his brother Phillip Thompson.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Miller County Care for the excellent care they gave to Ed.
