Obituary of William Jimmy Nations

William Jimmy Nations, age 86, of Macks Creek, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri. Jim was born June 12, 1922, in Macks Creek, Missouri to William Elbert and Snoda Mae Nations. He was united in marriage on June 10, 1947, and spent 61 years and 9 months with the love of his life, Bettie Jean Eidson. Their union produced three children, Judith Kay, Larry Dale and Brenda Dawn. Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church of Macks Creek. He was a 50 year member of the Macks Creek Masonic Lodge # 433. Jim bravely served his country during World War II as part of the 391st Infantry, 90th Division from October 8, 1942 through January 23, 1946, and proudly participated in the second landing in Japan. He retired from General Motors Assembly Plant in Fairfax, Kansas City, Kansas in 1977 after 30 years of employment. After retiring from General Motors, Jim and Jean returned to Macks Creek, Missouri where Jim drove a school bus for Macks Creek School from 1980-1993. Jim enjoyed traveling and drove the school bus for several senior trips. He was an avid NASCAR Fan... He enjoyed crappie fishing with Allisyn, deer hunting with Michael, coyote hunting and working in his garden. He was an automobile enthusiast who greatly enjoyed car shows and tinkering with his 1965 Pontiac Grand Prix. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters. His survivors include his wife, Jean, of the home, their daughter Judith Kay Nations-Martin and husband Don of Blue Springs, Missouri, their son, Larry Dale Nations and his dear friend Mike Shoup of Gladstone, Missouri and their daughter Brenda Dawn Carnahan and husband Judd of Macks Creek, Missouri. Two grandchildren , Michael James Bradley and wife Tracy of Blue Springs, Missouri and Allisyn Jaycee Carnahan of Macks Creek, Missouri. Two Great Grandchildren, Aaron Michael Bradley and Tori Lynn Bradley of Blue Springs, Missouri. Jim also leaves one brother, Fred Nations and wife Barbara of Independence, Missouri.
